In the poems of Dorien de Wit there is a lot of searching, a lot of (and precise) looking. What is a place, where am I and where is the other? It is about the relationship to a world that is constantly changing. The only thing the poet is sure of is the solid ground under her feet, until she realizes that the ground isn't solid at all, that the ground moves, if only at the rate at which your nails grow. Writing is an incessant search for something to hold on to where there is no foothold.
