Dear Marsman

In my basket, the third collection by Lieke Marsman, deals with the major themes that characterize human existence: the value of life and the place of death in human life. How do you live with a life-threatening illness? How does that change your view of the world, of what is of value, of what you remember and the passage of time? And how do you relate to the world in such circumstances? Do you withdraw from it, or do you assert yourself and hold up a mirror to the world? Lieke Marsman resolutely opts for the latter.
