Disaster suites

The poems in Disaster Suites were created in 2005-2006, under the presidency of George W. Bush. They are registrations of a disastrous political landscape, which at the same time want to offer openings for another world. In the midst of disaster, a universe that has become fateless in which we can no longer sail on the stars, Halpern sings poetry with a punchy lyrical voice full of desire, compelling, compact and complex, yet recognizable as the language of our world. Natural disasters, politics, war, film and TV, sex, philosophy, economics and love mingle in a captivating rhythm, in which the poet fights for meaning within each word in the name of the singing body, against all oppression.
