Alex Deforce

At the beginning of 2019, Alex Deforce (1984) took his first poetic steps on 'Nachtdichter' by Victor De Roo, on the Amsterdam label Knekelhuis. More recently, he provided Brihang with poetic interludes on his 'Casco' album, for which he recited poems by Georges Perec. In 2020 his first solo 7 inch vinyl was released on the Brussels Lexi Disques label, poetry to music by and with Charlotte Jacobs and Wiet Lengeler.

During the first corona lockdown, Alex was part of the 'Poets of Watch' and a poem was included for the first time in the Parisian (English) collection The Opiate. A little later, a poem was included in 'Swimming lessons for later', the first collection of the Climate Poetics Collective, published by Friday Publishers. Alex is also part of deBuren's Besmette Stad project in homage to Paul Van Ostaijen, for which he made the acid poetry song 're:Folies Bar' together with Dutch producer Endfest.

In 2022 he launched "Les Editions Deforce" with the first release a 7inch vinyl together with Victor De Roo and the second 'Tussenbruggen" a cassette and sticker pack with a 15-minute poem, produced by Paulo Rietjens (Stikstof, Zwangere Guy, etc). In 2022, three poems were published in the Lying Rabbit and he was part of the Watou Arts Festival.
