Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson wrote nearly 1800 poems, but only published a few in her lifetime. She wrote like no other has ever done about pain, passion, (dis)belief, death, nature, desire and human shortcomings. Her love poems are the most poignant ever written, but her life was not one of tragic loss alone, as evidenced by recurring concepts such as intoxication, ecstasy, sorcery and ecstasy. The completely idiosyncratic content of the work, together with its reclusive existence and unwillingness to publish, led to a deluge of biographical studies and interpretations after the publication of the collected work. This bilingual edition contains more than half of her poetry and is accompanied by an extensive and expert commentary and a biographical sketch by translator Peter Verstegen. Hope is subtle Gluttonous - Lives on those who choose Right - Yet - Seen from close, Cares very much Abstinence - She sits at the Serene Dishe - Who prepares a place for One - After which whatever is consumed The same remains -
