Catherine Verger

Catharina Vergeer (1993) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Amsterdam. She studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and recently started her master's at the Netherlands Film Academy. Her practice is rooted in the relationships that intermingle between the fabric of society: gestures and their meaning. In her work she uses a broad conception of language that is not limited to writing or speaking – meaning is also suggested by movements, images, objects, sounds and even their absence. In 2020 she published the collection Where De Words Waiting , from which she recited during Poetry Week 2023 in Boekhandel Perdu.
